Fynity Innovations LLP ("Fynity", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it and the rights you have. 3. How we use your data
- To respond to your enquiries and contact you about programs you have asked about;
- To register you for, and deliver, training programs, workshops, mentorship and internships;
- To assess internship applications and contact shortlisted candidates;
- To track attendance, assessments and progress, and to issue and verify certificates;
- To report program progress to the institution or government department running the program, where you joined through them;
- To improve our website and services using aggregated, non-identifying statistics; and
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We do not use personal data for advertising by third parties.
4. Consent and legal basis
We process personal data on the basis of your consent, given when you submit a form or enrol in a program, or for other lawful uses permitted under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to us (see section 10). Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it, but we may be unable to continue providing a program that depends on that data.
5. Data handled for government and institutional programs
When we deliver a program or build a platform for a government department or institution (for example, the AAROHAN AI Fellowship with ITDA Paderu, Government of Andhra Pradesh), the department or institution decides why and how participant data is used. In these cases:
- The department or institution is the Data Fiduciary, and Fynity acts as a Data Processor on its behalf;
- We process participant data only on the documented instructions of the department and only for the purposes of that program;
- We do not use program data for our own marketing or for any other client;
- Access is limited to authorised Fynity personnel working on that program, who are bound by confidentiality obligations;
- We share program data only with the department, or with others where the department instructs or the law requires;
- At the end of the engagement, we return or delete the data as set out in our agreement with the department; and
- We will inform the department without undue delay if we become aware of a personal data breach affecting program data.
Participants in such programs may contact the department directly, or write to us and we will pass the request to the department.
8. Data security
We follow reasonable security practices as required by the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, including:
- encrypted (HTTPS) transmission of data between your browser and our website;
- role-based access, so staff can see only the data needed for their work;
- confidentiality obligations for staff and contractors; and
- regular review of who has access to personal data.
No system is completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify affected persons and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law, and, for program data, the department concerned.
9. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law. After that, we delete or anonymise it. Certificate records are kept for as long as needed so that certificates can be verified. Data handled for government and institutional programs is retained and deleted as set out in the agreement with that department or institution.
10. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is used;
- ask us to correct, complete or update your personal data;
- ask us to erase your personal data, unless we must keep it by law;
- withdraw your consent;
- nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity; and
- raise a grievance with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India if it is not resolved.
To exercise any of these rights, write to fynityinnovations@gmail.com. See our Grievance Redressal page for timelines.
11. Children's data
Our programs are intended for college students and adults. Where a participant is under 18 years of age, we process their data only with verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian, obtained directly or through the institution or department running the program. We do not track or target advertising at children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
